Korea Korea Part 2

Kanak-kanak riang dan excited- first timers in Korea with Hazlina

Ulsan downtown!

Hauendai Beach, Busan

Blow Fish - buat sup yang sedap

Ok..less talk on work. One of the things that I see in Korea, is their sense of style. The women especially, are relatively ALL very stylish, especially when you enter Seoul. What we see in Sungei Wang, is somewhat familiar, yet not up to their level of style and daringness of combining colors and accessories. should check out the style there. Menarik OK...The Asst. Manager that I was talking about, so wanted me and Hazlina to change our styles to theirs. :)Guys there, however, are very tidy. By tidy, what I meant is being very formal in all levels of jobs. Imagine this...even the bus driver wears a 3-piece suit!

Now lets talk about food. I was warned of this sotong story, to that ikan buntal story, but what I actually went through was just fine. I had the sotong (live sotong cooked right under you nose), I had the ikan buntal (poisonous fish, only licensed cook could serve) and I'm still here right? In fact, I think its relatively called 'CULTURE'. Its either you could be open for other cultures of the world or not. Tapi maybe next time I wouldn't eat both the foods though, I was told that Muslims couldn't. Tatau takpe kan..? But one thing for sure...I don't think I could look at sotong the same again for the next few months or years...Had so much in merely 2 weeks! I love Malaysia for making it possible to eat all the chicken and beef that I want. Bersyukur yang amat ok...

All in all...Korea was a great experience. Lagi satu cop added to my humble passport. Next stop...Bali in August :p

ps: btw...another thing worth mentioning...I love Korean clean toilets!

This is dedicated to myself; for working on a beautiful sunny Saturday, when everyone else is either still in Lalaland or having a blast somewhere.

Destress the Natural Way

Like any city girls, in love with nature, I pursued the natural way of destressing by going on a 1-hour trip with my girlfriends; Nellie and Husna (latest cool friend!), to Sungai Kedondong, Ulu Yam.The scenery was breathtaking, the water was splendidly cool and clean, great company, and food was yummy (we stopped by gerai nasik lemak, near Petronas). Sedap OK, the nasik lemak kerang I had. Nell had nasik lemak peparu, Husna had both kerang and peparu and I brought along some Tuna Sandwiches, and the girls bought some drinks and snacks. Membadak - makan dan berendam tak ingat! We lepak for quite a while, had a session of DIY lulur and hair wash (masa ni, terasa cam perempuan Melayu terakhir), and more and more berendam. And who could resist not posing for the camera la kan...lalala...These are amongst the uncensored shoots I could show. Others...lets just say its not so recommended for public viewing ;p

Marmalade : Cafe and Boutique

My fav salad in the world- Avocado Accent

Beef Lasange - Yummy and huge

Had an eventful afternoon with Nell at Marmalade, a chic cafe in Bangsar Village 2 that I'd recommend to just about everyone.

Ambience : I loved the 'clean' off-white high ceilings and the striped feature wall on the side. We took a seat near the edge, where it offers a comfy outlook with throw pillows. Everyone just chats away comfortably, without being too conscious of one another, and this kinda reminds me of being in Dome.

Servings : We made up our minds on sharing our food, so that we could taste more of what they could offer. We ordered Beef Lasagne and Light Avocado Accent (it's actually tossed salad of roasted chicken, avocado, apple, capsicum, cashew nut, raisins and lettuce, tossed in olive oil, salt and lemon) and both were in huge servings!! It was so huge that we only ate like half of each, and packed back the rest home. The food was tasty, and service was quick. To top it all off, I had a Banana+Orange+Honey+Yoghurt smoothie, and Nell had a Detox Juice, alongside our desserts of a cupcake and a Strawberry Pound Cake. Yummylicious!

Price : RM5 - RM19 only!!!

Recommended to all; family lunch and dinner, or just a plain hang out cafe with your girlfriends over the humongous cakes that the cafe offers. BTW, they also have WiFi for your surfing pleasures.

Love's Toughest Journeys

I met a girl today, a long lost friend, whom I was introduced to, about 20 years ago. Our mothers are friends, and apparently, we used to play dolls together during adolescence. We share the same birthdate, only she was born a year later. Lisa's (name changed) blessed with a beautiful girl, Anna, and an active little boy, Adam. Another baby is coming along in June. First thing that came to mind was how lucky she must be. She's a successful teacher, and mother, raring her children with her hubby and her own bare hands, with minimal help from others but the nursery. And she has all this, within her 27 years of age. She's one year younger than me, and already leading a life much richer than yours trully.

We became fast friends, and she confided in me, that she was trully unhappy. She loves her family, but what is missing is her mother's blessings in her marriage. She's been married for 5 years now, and not even one of her terrific children is loved by their grandmother. Imagine a life like that. She's being punished just because she married someone she loves over a man the mother has arranged for marriage.

Its scary to think about what others in the world are going through at this moment of time. I'd be selfish if I ever say that my relationship had ended in the most terrible way, because life has taught me that everyone has their own story and problems beyond anyone's imagination.

Just when you think you've met the most wonderful man, they betray and lie to you.
Just when you think you're marrying your dream guy, he begins to hate you.
Just when you think you're marrying your destiny, your family isolates you.
Just when you think you married the perfect man, he leaves you.
Just when you think you're happy with your family, your partner dies on you.
Just when you think you're ecstatic with your children, they go on with life, and leave you.
Life is unpredictable and full of surprises.
Life can be hateful and wonderful, jumbled puzzle pieces.

Even though today's lesson in life has been hard and painful, and somehow I tell myself that damn, I hate the complications and problems that relationships could lead you to, but I know unconsciously, and deep inside me, I still hope and pray for that perfect life that only fairy tales could offer.
