More Cupcakes

Flower power

Birds of paradise

Baby Shower

Tea ladies?

Few weeks back, I went and 'upgraded' my skills in cupcake deco. So this is the result. I can now make cupcakes with royal icing and fondant toppings. Price-wise would be different of course, from my traditional butter topping. And price differs from the types of deco you need (the ones displayed are only sample deco I can name it, I'll make it). Price starts from RM4 per cuppy. For all newbies to this blog, you may contact me at for more details.

ATV Rocks!

Have you heard of ATV before?Nope...its not a new channel (dat's what I thought second, after considering if it has something to do with karaoke first) Its fun, challenging, heart stomping, and the whole package is intelligently planned, coz at the end of it all (before going back), we had a picnic at the most serene, secluded waterfall I've ever been to. This is ATV.

My wheel for the day; ATV is All Terrain Vehicle; indeed

Yours truly in her most ganas pose; hehe..ganas tak? :p

My Obsession

Call me nerdy or whatever, but I just luurrrvvvv what I'm doing this week. Some people couldn't make it to their Catia Advance training, so I pitched in. And I'm soooo distractions from other departments (as always) This week, its just me and my Catia..And so much time to think, and do stuffs I've wanted to do, but couldn't coz I'd go home exhausted everyday from Shah Alam. This week, its all about Damansara. Such bliss...

Holiday No More :p

Back to office, I am...Happy, am not, not happy, am not as well...Its been 2 weeks since the day I said babai and bid everyone at the office Selamat Hari Raya! And now I'm back, and was immediately thrown into a mountain of work...(I don't even have time to call anyone or blog anything, for heaven's sake!)Anyway...I find this both annoying and great; annoying coz part of my brain is still singing to Saloma's evergreen Selamat Hari Raya, while another part of me finds this push a great help to pass the time...for the past 2 days, I've somehow come up with a routine:

1. take off from KL at 6.50, while trying very hard, getting my eyes to open, and concentrate on the road..this has been torturous, since its been raining both the days, and rain is soooo good if you could crawl back into bed, but hell if you had to get to work...yuck!
2. reach the office's carpark (which is about 10 mins away from my desk by foot), shield the windshield (with that cover thingy I never got to know the name), hug my cushions, and go to sleep for about 10 mins...feeling better (but contact lenses got dried a bit, but heck) and start to walk the extra mile...
3. toss my things onto my desk, switch on the design machine (in other words, computer), get hot water from the pantry, and finally sit down, and make the coffee of the day (i miss this routine during coffee...)
4. work like crazy, chat a bit with Zai, and shoots off at 10.30 to Nilai, to go see my vendor (meeting yang sangat meleret...thank God I had my colleague with me...Sarah) till dusk..ayooo...

Penat OK...and I am sooo screwed actualy...forgot to make reservations for the girls' getaway plan in 3 weeks...Zai (organizer) will kill me...looking forward to that weekend hols...

The 5 People You Meet In Heaven

This post is loooong overdue. I must say that this book may have been one of the many, most influential books I've ever read. Its a story book that makes you think, and I've made a simple summary and managed to pick out the best representation and quotation of the 5 characters and of how this book may change people's life, and how they look at things that happens in their lives. Here goes:

1. Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know.
2. Sacrifice is a part of life. Its supposed to be. Its not something to regret. Its something to asprire to.
3. Holding anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves. Forgive.
4. Lost love is still love. You can't see their smile or bring them food, or tousle their hair, or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory becomes you partner. Life has to end. Love doesn't.
5. Everyone makes an accomplishment in whatever that they do. Never feel that you've accomplished nohing. You are supposed to or destined to be where you are. A friend once told me that rezeki comes with purpose and reason. The reason for my existance in my current office: to have great friends, to accomplish so many things that I love to do and to learn.

So in conclusion, each affects the others and the other affect the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one. This book is highly recommended, and best bought and kept as your very own masterpiece, to be sent down to your children and family.

Raya Yang Bes

Selamat Hari Raya to all my friends and family. May everyone have a joyous Syawal, and may Ramadhan have passed as blessedly as how it should be. Today's the 3rd day of Raya, and like any other year in Malaysia (especially in KL), there are 23 more days to go, before the closing of houses to others (ini agak drastic la plak...not saying that you can't visit my house any other days of the year) Anyway...3 days and I've managed to so far maintain my weight, maintain my high on ketupat and rendang, and at the same time, maintaining my confusion on whether I could or couldn't eat today (confuse kalau2 puasa lagi ke). This happens sometimes, coz you somehow get used to not eating the whole 1 month.Pelik OK...and the next thing you see is my sis, gulping down Coke, and confirm dah Raya...yay! these 3 days I've managed to:

1. Day 1- Go visit Ayah's, Nenek's and Nyang's pusara in the morning...Go to Wan Long's, Wan Chik's, Tok Joyah's, Wan Mah's houses and ate like there's no tomoro..hehe..bes bes
2. Day 2-Be the best host to family and friends who managed to pop over for a taste or 2 of my mom's yummylicious Beriani Pakistan.
3. Day 3-Go to Seremban, not knowing how to go about to Paroi, but managed to, without much guidance, and managed to find Han's house on my own (only address provided) and Ariff's (Mr. Left Neighbour) house, also very much on my own (only street name provided...I searched for his house by searching for his car...giler tak giler), and once I reached home, I pengsan till nite time..hehe..penat OK

I'm still up and about now (its 3 am now, and I know how some would ternganga terkejut, coz some of you guys know how early I sleep daily) and I think I'll reward myself by waking up very late tomoro.hehe.Nite Bloggie, and again, Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

I liked this week, till today came

I had a wonderful week this week. I came in on Monday, managed to do quite a lot at the office and settled many major issues that's been mushrooming lately. Anyway, all problems aside, I was sent off for the next 3 days by my company's training centre to learn how to make plastic parts. I've been to numerous mould trials, but I never knew what the operators actually do. This time, I not only know what to do, what to know, how to calculate for that perfect output, but I now also know how to set up the mould machine itself. Cool OK. Best part bout this training was that I managed to make many many plant pots and cups for the house.huhu..Of course with the help of my lovely groupmates. And to top it all off, Thursday nite was spent with my school loves. My favorite classmates in the world during my whole 10 years in school. Even though I only got to know you guys since form 4, you guys made my school days complete and blissfull. Love you, Najah, Saza, Shikin and Hazreen.

Today, however, came and took my smile away. I'm having a headache now, just thinking of my future, and how it can change forever with a mere mistake I'm about to make if I decided wrongly. I need guidance, but I don't know from whom I could get it from.

The title may seem to some, as a desperate calling for a relationship or for that special someone. Ever since last week, I know I should somehow set the record straight, in case you heard otherwise. Yup, last week, a certain someone had asked me one of the biggest questions of my life. 'Are you married to ******* ***** *****? WTF la kan...No way I am married to that freak, and Alhamdulillah, God loves me enough to show me the light, at just the right time. So here I am...telling everyone...I AM SOOOO SINGLE!!!

No, this is not the sexy salsa dance that you might think it is. This is pretty sexy itself, considering how easy it is to make it, and how much of an impression it can make on others having it with their roast chicken, steak, spaghetti or just about anything that needs the extra refreshing sweet and sour taste. There're lotsa versions to this, but this may be my very personal favorite, considering its impact on taste, yet so simple and cheap. This is for 6 pax.

2 red apples, chopped
1 green apple, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
a handful of chopped coriander (daun ketumbar)
1 tsp ground cumin (jintan putih)
a pinch of salt

Mix all ingredients. Refrigerate till needed.

Acting Mom

Mak is recuperating from her recent operation. We're all so glad that everything went so smoothly. There was only a hiccup along the way (operation reschedule), but Alhamdulillah, Mak is well on her way to wellness. So I'm wearing now, my 'Mom Hat' and taking charge of the house.

Beamin' and Singin'

Sambil tengah syok sendiri, menyanyi with all my might to Sarah Maclachlan's Angel (sipi-sipi teringat final year dinner) kat bilik with Youtube, tetibe terasa agak happy kebelakangan ini. Adakah mungkin sebab kerja di ofis yang kelihatan semakin bererti?Atau adakah kerana something great is about to happen soon? Someone please slap me now, before I get too happy now, but very sad later.

Beautiful Friday

What day could be better than Fridays? (excluding Saturdays and Sundays of course). I'm sipping away my second coffee of the day, while waiting for my design to run slowly, knowing at the back of my mind that I'll be on my way back home in only 2 hours. I've done quite a lot today, and I think I deserve this 5 minutes of babbling in my blog. My colleagues are mostly not in yet, due to the heavyly beautiful downpour and Friday prayers. I had a good lunch, watched 2 series of Scrubs, and had a quick nap, before the lights went on. This is just too perfect and don't anyone dare to ruin it. TGIF...lalala

Bali Bali

Bedugul - tasik di gunung berapi

Breathtaking Uluwatu
Seronok shopping di Art Market Kuta
With the talented artists
Barong dance at Batubulan

Me and Mak having our tea before leaving for home sweet home

I'm definitely coming back. Bali is fantastic. I love the people (they love us Malaysians back), great relaxation (massage, warm beach...oo la la), breath-taking views (and not forgetting utter solemnity) and fantabulous shopping!!huhu...We went on the Kintamani Tour, Bedugul Tour, Half-Day Uluwatu and Kecak Dance package, and the rest was all on our own two feets. 5 days went by too quickly. Must-sees are the Kecak Dance during sunset at Uluwatu, the view at Kintamani and Bedugul (highlands unlike what I've ever seen).

I must recommend that first-timers like myself, should stay in Kuta, just like my cousin recommended. I stayed in Hotel Legian Paradiso, a modest yet like the rest of Bali, detailed with its delicate beauty. Very convenient, about 30 minutes from the International Airport, 10 minutes walk to the Legian Beach - get the cheap massages they offer here, while cuci mata on cool surfer dudes, 5 minutes walk to its Arts Market (very good bargain here) surrounded by good shops for your shopping pleasures, 2 minutes walk to 3 Minang Muslim restaurants, 2 minutes walk to the best CD shop I've ever been to (Rp10,000 each only!!), and endless flow of taxis that'd take you everywhere (but be extra careful, they cheat sometimes). This hotel also has its own spa, so you only need to step out of your room, walk a few steps and into the spa at any time (they even do room service). Oh yeah...did I mention they serve Halal breakfast as well?
For your shopping pleasures, best bargains would be at various places, for various items. Get gorgeous beaded slippers at Ubud (especially towards nightfall), leather goods at Goa Gajah, clothings at Kuta and Tanah Lot, cheap souveniers and home deco at Denpasar Art Market, exotic aromatherapy and spa soaps, oil, scrubs at Kuta, beaded accesories at Kuta, original paintings at Ubud, stone carvings at Batubulan and the list goes on...I like I like I like! are some of the shots of Bali.

A dear aunt (Ayah's cousin, aged 39) has left her family of 6 beautiful very young children and a loving husband, to join the Almighty. May Allah bless her soul and rest her in peace. Al-Fatihah. This sudden and sad leaving just makes me wonder more of how long I could live, and how much is enough for what I've done on earth. Makes me just wanna have and do more during this short life.

But they always come back together.

Feeling a lil melodramatic today, thinking of a baby that has yet to come into my life. I love this beautiful song, and I'd definitely sing it to you, my future baby. Lullaby by Dixie Chicks.

They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough

Cause I'm never, never giving you up
I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

Bedridden Weekend

I was excited for this weekend. Finally, a weekend to rest and no pressure of going here and there to settle this and that chore. Oooo...I would've loved this weekend, if only this fever would just go away and come on a weekday perhaps?? I've been bedridden and on panadol and ponstan since yesterday afternoon. My head is killing me, my body is aching all over, and all I got from the lowsy doctor at Klinik Idzham was an RM24 bill and some stupid pills my sis could've supplied for free. Dr. Siti Nariman...the worst doctor in the world. Our conversation (if you could even call it that) went pretty much like this:

Me: Hi Doctor!
Doctor: (a nod)
Me: Saya demam. Terok sangat. Pening kepala. Sengal-sengal badan, Doctor. What's wrong with me?
Doctor: (silence, and places the thermometer on my forehead) Demam. Give me your arm. Nak check blood pressure. (pump pump pump...release....)
Me: How is it Doctor?
Doctor: Quite low. Ade batuk?Selsema?
Me: Takde. (duh)
Doctor: Ok.
Me: What if I have denggi?
Doctor: Come back in 5 days.

And that was it! How can you charge anyone, just by doing that. This took, what...5 minutes?? I think this doctor seriously needs to just stay home, get more kids, and retire early. She's definitely not someone I'd recommend. The only reason I went there anyway, was thinking that it might be another doctor's shift for treatment, since she usually takes on the morning shift. I guess I won't bother hoping again. That'l be the end of my dumping my money to that lousy clinic.

Women's Poem

I love this poem so much, I have to share. Hillarious, and definitely impossible...But its not wrong to hope and wish right..? One of Husna's forwarded emails that I love.

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to "how big is my behind?"
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.

Sale Sale Sale

Last weekend was something else. I was out with the family (solely as supporter, seeing that I was to tired to make anything) selling stuffs. My mom is an artist, seriously. She paints, and her latest endeavor involves crystals. And, as her talent and recognised specialty in art, she didn't merely take this up unprofessionally. She completed a whole course, and have been practising, and I've managed to sell a few at the office (thanks guys) and thanks of course to her talent. So she didn't take up the offer we received from a cousin lightly; to test the market in the open. My sisters also added some others stuffs for variety. This was all at Masjid Kampung Pandan, and best of all, the whole affair was for a good cause; as crowd puller for the Hal Ehwal Perdana, RTM1. Sale was not so bad, but we definitely had an fun.

Donuts Mania

One missing..hehe... I couldn't wait was Iceburg

I'm sure many of you guys are avid readers of nellie-the-elephant, and you should know that the lady obviously loves donuts. Just last week, I had the chance of sinking my teeth into the world famous Krispy Kreeme, and latest, just yesterday, I bought myself a half dozen of The Big Apple Donuts. Yummy! Best are - Iceberg, Chococino and definitely Glazed. Price-wise...very OK indeed, and very much competitive with the general public's favorite...Dunkin Donuts. I'd opt for Big Apple's though...anyday.

everything happens for a reason,
every sickness promises health (or death) in the end,
every mistake promises lessons not to be repeated,
every failure promises success some day,
life was not writen over a day by mere human,
life is a journey beyond our control,
beyond our imagination,
God promises good for the good,
bad for the bad,
most importantly God promises forgiveness
for whom forseeks forgiveness,
happiness for whom works hard for happiness,
beyond this dark patch of clouds,
God promises His loved ones a rainbow,
God, help me go through this,
give me strength and courage and hope,
everything happens for a reason, i hope,
there's a blessing in disguise, i pray.

Sup Punye Pasal

Sup ape ni yer...? :)

Tangkap basah ngan Na!

Crazy nite. Mak felt like having a bowl of soup at one of our fav spots for sup mamak, which serves all kinds of soups of all parts of the lembu, kambing and ayam. Sup Jalan Doraisamy has been one of the biggest spots in KL since forever. I just came back from a bowl of Sup Campur - no need to know la campur ape. 'Cherry' of the nite was the sudden downpour (cats and dogs OK) that got us drenched, and slightly disappointed with the cold Nasi Lemak they had to serve with the soups. Soups were excellent, nevertheless. And a word of warning...Never park at the parking space legally on Friday and Saturday nites. They charge you RM10 per entry.

Jumbo Trip

Nature at its best

Me and Wan and Logimala (kot)

This weekend may have been one of the most fulfilling weekends in months. I had 2 trips to Pahang, on 2 separate days, with 2 entirely different crowds for 2 entirely different reasons. But both required early starts, but I didn't mind at all, considering how worthwhile both the occasions were.
Saturday...I made 2 new fantabulous friends; Wan and Amir, and spent 2 great hours with 6 adorable (jumbo-like) 'pets'. The fantastic five (us 3 + Nell and Husna) started early in the morning, had breakkie at Genting Sempah (though much to Wan's resistance - he hated the name so much :p) and continued on the 1.5hrs journey to the Elephant Sanctuary Park Kuala Gandah. We arrived at almost 11, quickly registered, and was recommended to go lepak at a nearby Deer Park (3km away), but instead we explored the Kampung Orang Asli nearby (walking distance). The locals performed for us, and some of us even tried sumpit. That was fun. The next few hours till the start of event at 1 was spent aimlessly in front of the camera ( are such a poser!) The video show was informative, but the real deal started at 2.

We were practically running towards the ele's when we saw them, all lined up for their bath and meal. Punyelah beria nak naik gajah, sampaikan mula-mula we didn't even want to feed the ele's, but who could resist such a grand occasion. The place provided tonnes of fruits for everyone to feed. Comel sangat. Banyak perangai. One didn't want to eat anything else but bananas, one wanted people to feed him directly into the mouth only (manja kan...) but others were just happily accepting all that we feed. Ada papayas, watermelons, bananas, cucumber. Menarik ok...

Next was the ride of the day. I loved the short (very short actually) trip on the back of Logimala (an adult ele from India) with Nell and the trainer. I wished it was longer, but if you thought about it, kesian plak kat gajah-gajah nih, nak layan semua orang yang datang tiap-tiap hari. Throngs of people OK, and mainly from KL. It was fun nevertheless, riding on its bare back. I felt really close to nature then. :) Kinda like Jane..huhu...

The last event really was the event of the day, saved for last. This time, I rode the ele in the river, with Wan, Husna and a Mat Salleh, and at one point, it just free-falls on the side, along with us on its back. Fun yang ultimate OK. I don't think any rides I've been on my whole life could compare. Tenggelam heads-on into the river. huhu. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but I'd definitely drive the 1.5hrs drive back anyday for that 5-minute fun. All rides are limited to one per person, and only the first 120 persons registered gets the chance of doing all these activities. Check this out: Have fun!
